ABOUT OUR PASTOR

Our Pastor

Pastor Rod L. Little is a native of East St. Louis, Illinois. He has become distinguished and attained many accomplishments. A graduate of the East St. Louis Lincoln Senior High School, class of 1995. At the age of 17, he accepted his calling to minister under the leadership of Rev. L.D. Tate. Rev Little received his diploma in Biblical Studies and Christian Growth from the Lay Bible Academy and received a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies from Anchor Theological Seminary and Bible Institute. Also, Rev. Little has completed his dean certification from the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention Congress of Christian Education. In 2009, he was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from New Life Bible College, Fresno, CA.

At the age of twenty-two, Rev. Little pastored his first church, Israeli Baptist Church, for three years. God then led him to organize/plant the Mt. Moriah Church where he served as pastor for eleven years. God moved in his ministry, and Rev Little was installed as the Pastor of St. Matthew Baptist Church in East St. Louis, Illinois on September 16, 2012. He has a global mission to equip the world through the Word of God. Rev. Little’s passion is Christian Education, he sees this as the working force to better the believer’s knowledge about salvation in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His belief is the Body of Christ should be equipped in every area of life. As he preaches and teaches, Rev Little focuses on equipping believers spiritually, developing them educationally, exposing them culturally, and strengthening them economically.

 

In addition to his duties as pastor, Rev. Little currently serves as Congress President of Christian Education for the New Salem Baptist District, and also serves as Corresponding Secretary for the Baptist General State Convention of Illinois, moderator of Area 5 of the American Baptist Churches – Great Rivers Region and a Board Member for the Joseph Center of East St. Louis, IL.  He is currently in the progress of attaining a Master of Theology degree in Christian Behavior at Anchor Theological Seminary and Bible Institute.

 

Pastor Rod Little and Lady Sharnique Little are the proud parents of three wonderful children – JaSean, Javaria, and Christopher.
